Staggered Start is here and with it comes bittersweet feelings; I’m happy I had the privilege to run with everyone for another year, sad that the Winter Series is coming to a close. I’m happy spring is right around the corner, sad that there’s a lot of folks I won’t see again until December.
If this is your first time at the Staggered Start, everyone is given a starting time, from 0:00 to 30:00 and up. This number represents all the races you have conquered in the Winter Series.
People much smarter than me have put together calculation sheets that account for your good races, bad races, and okay races. This sheet provides a start so you finish the race at exactly 10AM. For instance, Johnny King-Marino has a start time of 24:07 because the sheet expects him to run it in 35:53. Add those two numbers up and you get… 1 Hour, a 10AM finish!
Side note, you may start later than your time but not earlier than your time. However, if you do, you’re missing the point of this race!
When you arrive, please allow yourself enough time to go to registration to get your starting time. The starting time will be provided as a handy-dandy sticker that you can put on your bib, your shirt, your hand, or even your forehead. Please make it visible for our starting line volunteers.
See everyone Sunday!
